Lakewood Starts 2010 with Win - by Mario Razo

The Lancers started off the 2010 season with a win. The offense started in the first inning when Schultz(3-4 2B, 2R, 2RBI) singled, advanced to second on a passed ball and was driven in by Jones(2-5 R, RBI). Yamaguchi(1-4 RBI) then singled to score Jones. Leidholdt (1-2 3R) and Crawford (1-3 2R, RBI) scored in the 2nd inning to make it 4-0 Lakewood. After scoring 2 more runs in the 6th, Razo (2-4 R) started the 7th with a single. After the next two batters were hit by pitches to load the bases, Bernal (2-4 R, 3RBI) singled to drive in 2 more runs. The Lancer would go on to a 10-3 victory. Yamaguchi pitched 5 innings for the win, allowed 4 hits while striking out 5 Trojans. Ittner and Padilla would pitch the last 2 innings to complete the Lancers first win.
