Damion Easley Class of 1987
Attended Lakewood High School in Lakewood, CA, where he was a member of the CIF champions in 1987. He attended Long Beach City College before being drafted by the California Angels in the 30th round of the 1988 amateur draft. Easley has played for the California Angels, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, and the New York Mets Career, 1593 AB, 702 R, 1301 H, 157 RH, 640 RBI 114 SB. New York Mets 40 man roster 2008.
Chris Gomez Class of 1989
Member of the 1987 CIF Championship Team.
Played for the Lions of Loyola-Marymount, & was an All-American for Long Beach 49er’s in 1992
A 15-year veteran utility infielder, who split last season between Baltimore and Cleveland, signed a $1 million, one-year contract in 2008 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gomez hit .319 in 301 at-bats with the Orioles in 2006-07 before being claimed on waivers by Cleveland on Aug. 2. He had a .283 average in 53 at-bats with Cleveland and has a .261 career average in 1,425 games with seven clubs, beginning with Detroit in 1993. Made is big league debut against the Minnesota Twins. First major league hit was a triple off Kansas City Royals Pitcher Frank Di Pino July 22nd 1993. Other of Chris teams, Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Jon Weber Class of 1996
Holds Lakewood’s all time Season Batting Average of .543 (38/70) in 1996.
Lakewood’s all time leader in Triples in a career at 16, Triples in a season 11, Triples in one game 2.
Played at Texas Tech. In his junior year batted .356 with 13 home runs, 84 RBI’s, leading the Big 12 in
Triples with 8.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Cincinnati Reds Aug. 1999.
Played for Billings in the Pioneer Leagues his rookie season.
His first full season with Class-A Clinton hit .221 in 108 games.
Was a Frontier League All-Star in 2001 with the independent Canton Crocodiles,
Leading the league in HR’s with18, producing 7 Triples, with 69 RBI’s, slugging .559
In 2002 played with Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks independent league playing in 90 games, 46 extra base hits,
69 runs, while producing 30 doubles. Contract was purchased by Oakland A’s 2003.
Split time with Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento. Combined .286 with 17 HR’s
In 2004 signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, spent 2005 season with Double-A Jacksonville.
Started the 2006 season with Triple-A Las Vegas of the PCL, Traded to Arizona D’back’s Triple-A Tucson, Batting .321,
With 5 HR’s. Helped the Sidewinders capture the PCL Championships over Round Rock.
In 2007 hit .256 with 3 HR’s and 21 RBI’s in 39 games for Durham Bulls after being acquired from the Texas Rangers

Aljay Davis Class of 2004
Three-year letter winner at Lakewood High School under Spud O'Neil ... Hit .500 as a senior and stole 26 bases en route to being named to the All-California team and earning conference most valuable player honors ... Also placed on the All-CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) team and All-Moore League team.
JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Played two years in the infield under Roger Ward at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M ... Preseason All-American in 2006 ... Two-time first team All-Region player ... Hit .404 with 32 stolen bases in 2006 and .454 with 46 stolen bases in 2005.
SUMMER 2006:
Played for the Denton Outlaws of the Texas Collegiate League and was named the league's Most Valuable Player.
2007 [JUNIOR]:
Started season opener ... All 55 starts came at second base ... Recorded a .297 clip with 15 RBIs in Big 12 play ... Hit out of the Sooners' leadoff spot in 36 games ... Reached base in 46 percent of leadoff opportunities ... Put together a nine-game hitting streak, Collected hits in 13 of the first 15 games of the season, Finished the season ranked fifth on the team with 19 multiple-hit games ... His six RBIs against Kansas State was a season high among all Sooners and marked the first time a Sooner drove in six or more runs since Chris Ebright had nine RBIs on March 28, 1987 against Oklahoma City.
Mike Carp Class of 2004
Mike Carp was selected by the Mets with their 9th round pick in the 2004 amateur draft.
He earned ABCA All-American Honors for Region 8 coming out of high school. He had a solid debut season with the Gulf Coast Mets in 2004 and showed promise as a young player on the 2005 Suns. In 2006 he was a key player on the St. Lucie Mets championship team, earning him a spring invite in 2007. Carp impressed manager Willie Randolph and stayed in big league camp until 3 days before the start of the season.
Travis d'Arnaud Class of 2007
Three year Varsity Letterman, Catcher
In 2003
Travis and his team mates from Heartwell Pony captured the Pony World Series Championship by beating Humacao, Puerto Rico. In Travis first varsity year in 2005 as a sophomore travis batted .351
In 2006 Travis was voted 1st team all Moore League, Division 1 all CIF first team catcher wile helping lead his team to the 2006 CIF Division 1 Championships & District 4th American Legion Championships. Batting .426, 40 Hits, 28 Runs, with 37 RBI’s in 94 plate appearances.
In 2007 Travis was voted Moore League Player of the Year, All CIF Division 1 catcher, Batted .431 in 109 plate appearances, collecting 45 Hits, producing 42 Runs, with ll Doubles, 4 Triples, with 7 HR’s Travis lead the CIF that year in RBI’s with 52.
Travis was the 37th overall selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, 2007
In Travis first rookie short season he played in 41 Games, 141 AB, 18 Runs, 34 Hits, 3 Doubles, 4 HR’s, 20 RBI’s, 4 BB, with 23 Strike outs. .241 Avg, .278 OBP, .348 SLG.
In 2008 Travis was enshrined into the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame as Co-Athlete of the Year splitting this award with Artesia’s basketball MVP James Harden
Trevor Costin Class of 2007
Starting third baseman Long Beach City College Vikings
In 2007 Trevor was voted MVP of the Anaheim Lions Tournament, later became All-Moore League First team. Trevor batted .500 during the 2007 season with 46 RBI’s, 51 Hits, and 36 Runs, striking out only 8 time in 105 At Bats. Trevor holds Lakewood’s all time career batting title passing Lakewood’s varsity coach Matt Nuez school record of .441 with a combined average of .451
In 2006 junior 3rd baseman and CIF Division #1 Champion, & 4th area American Legion Champion. Trevor Costin was voted All-Moore League 1st team, Batted .451, 31Runs, 41 Hits, 12 Doubles with 35 RBI’s, with 19 strike outs in 98 At Bats.
Jonathan Johnson Class of 2007

Jonathan Russell Johnson was born October 27, 1988 in Lakewood, Calif... Son of Linda and Russell Johnson... father played football in college... has a brother and a sister, Jeffery and Reanna... he a kinesiology major
Earned three varsity letters for Coach Spud O'Neil as starting short stop… Was a three-time team captain and two-time All-League selection... batted .446 with one home run, 16 RBI, a .524 on-base percentage, nine triples and 37 runs scored as a senior...
In 2006 Jonathan hit .379 in 95 At Bats, 43 Runs, 36 Hits, 20 RBI’s, 6 Doubles, 1 Triples, 21 BB, Stole 14 Bases, Striking out 6 times. 1st Team All-Moore League, CIF Division 1 Champion & 4th area American Legion Champion.
